When I run this...

I get this error...
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not allocate metaspace: 1073741824 bytes
I have looked quite a while and don't know how to fix this. I'm certain it shouldn't take that much memory to do the simple job of opening a one-page PDF and filling it with info. How can I limit that amount of memory this uses?
My System
- OS: CloudLinux 7.9
- Memory: 8GB (shared hosting with multiple other sites)
- Typical Free Memory: 1.5GB
- Hosting Software: WHM/cPanel server (I manage the entire server so have root access)
- Java: 1.8
