I am a nerd. I like computers, reading and watching sci-fi, programming, foreign languages and language history. I like to make web pages, mostly with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, & in the past PHP (I used the CodeIgniter framework). I like to tinker and I like to build. I rock climb and scuba dive and play indoor soccer.

I am an Information Security Architect at a large company in a non-IT industry. I have been working in the IT field for more than a decade. I am focused on higher-level stuff, like enterprise security architecture, policy development, risk analysis, and auditing. I also have the privilege of conducting security reviews of the contracts that my company negotiates with vendors.

I am the founder and developer of a rock climbing website called Log the Crux. Its goal is to give rock climbers a place to log their rock climbing sessions, and get stats on those climbs and sessions, something akin to RunKeeper or MapMyFitness. I’ve done a lot of work on it, and have a couple of great friends who help me test on an almost daily basis. I still have a long way to go, and recently decided to rewrite the entire thing as a single page javascript application, away from the PHP framework I’ve been using for a couple of years. IT should be interesting going forward.
