we use the old PL5:220 is heavily overloaded Is "etnetserver" the master cryptographic process? hsm is in the cluster but apparently the load balancer is not working correctly, Our developers claim that LB is fine, the problem is with HSM Can the function "tcpdump" or similar be run directly on the HSM, which would reveal where the communication is coming from on the HSM, i.e. the load?

thanks for the anwers

  • It is very hard to understand and suspiciously looks like an urgent production issue that would be better asked to your vendor. You've a support contract right? – Bruno Rohée Sep 20 '22 at 09:09
  • someone here asked how to HSM connect to net, I also asked the supplier this question, but i don't know how quickly he will answer me. I'm trying to ask how HSM works, there is a process that puts enormous load on HSM, is the main croptography process "etnetserver" ? I know it looks like a security risk and makes me look like a bad guy – Petr Sep 20 '22 at 09:46
  • This is not answerable without a LOT more information, like network architecture, application architecture, workload. And it would take quite a bit of time. You need a consultant if you can't get a handle on it yourself. – Bruno Rohée Sep 20 '22 at 09:50
  • %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 43.5 0.1 360520:49 etnetserver – Petr Sep 20 '22 at 10:01
  • %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND ; 43.5 0.1 360520:49 etnetserver - Here is a process that loads the HSM, i think this is a normal working deamon. HSM have limited function package, I have a question, can i run directly on HSM "tcpdump" or something? when i run tcpdump on the server which take care of the HSM, it won't be accurate – Petr Sep 20 '22 at 10:08
  • What your HSM can run will depend on the HSM. You need to look up the documentation. As this appears to be a product-specific question, it's off-topic. – schroeder Sep 20 '22 at 20:34
