Modify only Subject(CN) in PEM

I have .key file (RSA PRIVATE KEY) and .pem file (CERTIFICATE) , and I want to change only the CN of Subject.

What is the easy way to do that ?

One cannot change an existing certificate without invalidating the signature. Does this answer your question?
