Executing cmd command on XP with metasploit

Question

I am pretty knew to cyber, but looking at metasploit and trying to execute arbitrary commands in cmd on an old Windows XP. I am trying to use https://www.infosecmatter.com/metasploit-module-library/?mm=payload/windows/exec with the .exe file on a USB. I can use msfvenom -f exe -p windows/exec CMD="notepad" -o pay.exe to open notepad, and similar with calculator. This works but is not very exciting. I cant seem to string things together with && to eg move out of directory or remove folders. How could I do this? It seems quite simple and like there should be a way to do it
