This post: Can a speaker be used as a microphone? mentions that speakers can be used as microphone too it depends on the software and the speaker.

For a modern smartphone, tablet or notebook, is it possible to check if the internal speakers can be used as microphone? What would be the easiest way to disable this "feature" except removing the speakers completely? iirc plugging in some external speaker could help but I don't know if it needs to be turned on. Running some audio all the time?

I think it'd be more difficult to use the speakers as microphones than to use the microphones as microphones. So not sure there's a need to sort of re-write the whole driver just to use your speakers as microphones. Easiest way? Disable the audio hardware. A microphone/speaker won't need power to be an input... (though there are some mics that are better run with "phantom power") but the audio hardware does. – pcalkins Nov 01 '21 at 22:28
