recently I was looking at my cordless phone power supply's, one ran off of 9v dc, the other 12V dc, both were fairly low current and have a page function, here's what I was thinking, attach the speaker of the cordless phone to a relay or triac or something, then you have a remote switch, then hook this to a battery and an electronic detonator and you would have a detonator that would have a fairly lang range, these are also capable of working at distances of up to 1/2 mile or more when you use a beter antenna. best of all these things are cheap, they are like 30 bucks each for a good one compared to a 50 dollar pager or RC car. also they are a self contained transmitter/recever.
