Day of Tears

The Day of Tears is advocated by pro-lifers as a day when flags across the United States should be lowered to half-staff and the nation should pause to mourn the 58 million unborn fetuses who have been legally aborted because of the 22 January 1973 Roe v. Wade decision.[1] It is controversial because lowering flags to half-staff is usually reserved for honoring military dead (including commanders in chief)[2], and the event demonizes people that have made their decision to abort (usually from difficult circumstances), equating them to murderers.
