Ariel Toaff

Ariel Toaff (1942–) is a notorious Israeli rabbi and university professor of Judeo-Italian descent who is accused of being an antisemitic crank. His father was Chief Rabbi of Rome. He is author of the pseudohistorical book Pasque di sangue. Ebrei d'Europa e omicidi rituali (Passovers of Blood: The Jews of Europe and Ritual Murders), which claims that Jews drink the blood of Christian babies.[1]

Noted Jewish community leader Abraham Foxman condemned Toaff's work, saying "It is incredible that anyone ... would give legitimacy to the baseless blood libel accusation that has been the source of much suffering and attacks against Jews historically."[2]
