Below is a list of versions that can corrupt or damage your world and versions that cause crashes. If the given version affects entities, blocks etc. in the way you wouldn't like to and still want to play on that version, keep them in unloaded chunks and remove them from your spawn chunks before updating.

Danger Definitions

Dangers Meaning
System Threat Harms or crashes the device running the game.
Hardlock Damages the world making it permanently unplayable.
Softlock Damages the world in a way that retains all data, but severely inhibits or completely prevents gameplay (e.g. crash loop).
Chunk Corruption Damages the world by deleting or modifying chunks.
World Files Damages world settings or other miscellaneous world data, such as player inventories, maps, etc.
Crash Causes the game to crash once. See Softlock for crash loops.
Performance Decreases the performance of the world.
Player Death Is able to kill the player in an unintended fashion.
Item Damage Damages items in the world.
Block Damage Damages blocks in the world, and/or discontinued block combinations.
Entity Damage Damages entities in the world.

Attempting to place or destroying a boat with a hazard - cactus, fire, lava and explosions - will crash the game. N/A Crash
TU19 - TU24 Shooting an arrow from a dispenser igniting it and then it hitting TNT, crashes the game. N/A Crash
TU31 Placing a bed on a snow layer crashes the game. N/A Crash
The End shrank by a block on each side, meaning blocks previously placed at the edge can no longer be interacted with. MCCE-829 Item Damage
TU48 Attempting to place a sign on top of tall grass or tall ferns crashes the game. N/A Crash
TU53 Items in the player off-hand are not dropped on death, deleting them. MCCE-4793 Item Damage
TU54 Placed shukers have their inventory deleted when updated into this version MCCE-4793 Item Damage
TU57 - TU61 Placing a bed next to a cactus crashes the game. MCCE-6531 Crash
Dispensers & Droppers can no longer be quasi-powered, (Potentially breaking redstone machines). MCCE-5765 Block + Item Damage
TU57 - TU62 Updating cooked fish from before TU31 softlocks the world if loaded. MCCE-6531 Softlock
TU60 - TU61 Cauldrons no longer movable, (Potentially breaking redstone machines). MCCE-6589 Block + Item Damage
TU69 - TU70 Dropping an anvil onto a sea pickle crashes the game MCCE-8127 Crash
