When purchasing a new bottom panel, do any of the stickers or pads have to be transferred to the new part? How?
This is the instructions on how to just remove the bottom cover to access other components. The part is sold here on iFixit for $99 and looks to include the rubber feet.
Can i buy this bottom replacement piece here or is this instructions on how to do it?
These are instruction on how to replace the cover as if it came with the screws and rubber feet. There are other tutorials on this site on replacing the rubber feet and they do sell the bottom casing (with the rubber feet) and screws here.
How much weight can I save by removing the optical drive?

You can save a lot of weight if lets say your installing a solid state drive or putting in a second hard drive but if you know that you use the CD/DVD disc drive a lot then you might just want to leave the drive alone.
