Introduction

If nothing occurs on the screen when you press on the keys, then the keyboard may be faulty. To replace the keyboard, follow the provided guide to fix the faulty keyboard.

    • Flip the IdeaPad bottom side up.

    • Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the two 6.0mm screws on the back panel, that hold the keyboard.

    • Flip the computer back to top facing.

    • Open the lid.

    • Use the plastic opening tool to pry the keyboard up and away from the bottom assembly.

    There’s a screw which is fixed behind the laptop which is fixed to keyboard.

    So first remove all screws on the back panel in step 5.

    There are actually 2 screws on the bottom of the laptop that secure the keyboard. Removing all screws from the bottom of the laptop is still the best thing to do before beginning.

    • Next disconnect the keyboard cable by using the tip of the spudger or your finger to lightly push out the ribbon from the contact port.

    • Completely remove the keyboard from the bottom assembly.

    Die zwei Schrauben auf der Unterseite müssen vorher gelöst werden. Wer dieser Anleitung folgt, bekommt die Tastatur zwar mit Gewalt raus, hat aber dann sie von der verschraubten Halterung abgerissen.

    Do not pull on the cable. This is a ZIF connector. You will have to unlock the connector before pulling or prying on the cable. Click on the link for instructions on unlocking ZIF connectors .
