Background

Tzumi Electronics LLC (Tzumi) released the ionvac SmartClean V2 in 2020 as part of the ionvac series of SmartVacs for home floorcare. Its gyroscoping smart mapping navigation technology has been upgraded from its predecessor, the ionvac SmartClean 2000. This feature maps out spaces and creates a pre-planned cleaning path.  Although newer versions have been released, the V2 model remains popular for its price point.

Tzumi manufactures consumer electronics and distributes their products to large box stores including Walmart, Target, Macy’s, and Best Buy. This device sold at $274.97 on the manufacturer’s website, but is often sold for less.

The robot vacuum holds a 4.7-star rating on Tzumi’s website. This product one of Tzumi’s best-selling robotic vacuums. Positive reviews commend the vacuum’s sleek design, connectivity, adaptability, and suction attribute, especially in comparison to other highly-marketed brands, such as the Shark ION robot.

Negative reviews note spotty or insufficient customer service communication and a lack of detailed troubleshooting information.. Because these vacuums need to be cleaned and replaced routinely, replacement kits consisting of main brushes, side brushes, and HEPA filters are sold for $20 by Tzumi and other companies.

The ionvac SmartClean V2 has been succeeded by the ionvac SmartClean V4, a $280 version that includes a self-cleaning feature. Only replacement kits for the V4, not the actual device, are listed on Tzumi’s website.

The ionvac SmartClean V2 has a slim, circular design that has become common among robot vacuums. At 12.6 inches (320 mm) long, 12.6 inches (320 mm) wide, and 3 inches (76 mm) high, this model weighs 4.8 pounds (2.2 kg). The top of this all-black robot displays a blue circle with the home and power button outlined in blue next to the word "ionvac" in white and black letters. All ionvac robots come in black.

To positively identify the SmartClean V2, users can flip the robot to find the model number in a small gray box below the main roller brush with other specification details.
