Background

Starting at $300 USD more than the standard iPhone 11, Apple’s “Pro” model notably gains a third rear camera, improved durability and water resistance, and a new 5.8-inch “Super Retina XDR” OLED display. It also ships with an 18W power adapter (a first for an iPhone) for fast charging, and greatly improved battery life—an extra 4 hours over the prior year’s iPhone XS, according to Apple. In addition to Silver, Gold, and Space Gray options, a new Midnight Green color is also available.

Apple’s 3D Touch feature, first introduced with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, is discontinued with this model.

A larger, 6.5-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max is also available.

The most often replaced iPhone 11 Pro parts include the battery, screen, and speakers.

Identification

You can identify the iPhone 11 Pro by finding one of the model numbers either on the inner edge of the SIM card tray or within the phone's Settings app:

  • A2160
  • A2215
  • A2217

You can find the model number through the phone's UI by going to the Settings app and navigating to General > About. Tap on the number listed in the Model Number section and it should change to a format that looks like the numbers above.

The iPhone 11 Pro features a 5.8 in (diagonal) glass screen with curved edges, thin black bezels, and a notch at the top of the screen to accommodate a speaker and selfie camera. The back cover is glass and the edge frame is made from curved stainless steel.

Volume controls can be found on the left edge while the power button and SIM card tray are situated on the right. A rectangular camera "bump" containing three cameras in a triagonal layout protrudes slightly from the back case. This model has no home button.

The iPhone 11 Pro can be differentiated from the iPhone 11 Pro Max by its 5.8 in screen (relative to the 6.5 in screen on the Pro Max model).
