Background

July of 2012 Toshiba released the the world's first 21:9 ultrabook. It featured a 14.4" Ultra-Wide LED backlit display with Harman and Kardon speakers to enhance the movie watching experience. The Ultra-Wide screen also gave the user more room to task and open programs in. The computing power was handled by a Intel® Core™ i5-3317U with integrated HD 4000 graphics. The U840W also had 1xHDMI connection, 1xHeadphone/Microphone jack, 3x USB 3.0 ports, and 1xRJ45 network port (while having no optic drive). The Satellite U840W offered competent computing in and Ultra-Sleek case with Ultra-Wide display. Externals were a brushed steel finish with many rubberized areas for grip that made the Ultrabook secure in transit.
