Background and Identification
Saeco is an Italian manufacturer of manual, automatic, and capsule-based espresso machines and coffee makers. The brand was created in 1981, and sold to the Dutch electronics company Phillips in July 2009. In 2017, Phillips sold the Saeco Professional division, but retained the domestic division of coffee machines. Saeco is now a globally recognized name, but it also remains an established Italian brand with headquarters in Gaggio Montano, a municipality near Bologna, Italy.
Saeco brand espresso makers and coffee machines are generally high end. The company offers many models with capabilities that range from small home use to professional and commercial settings. The Saeco brand tries to make each model of espresso machine and coffee maker as automatic as possible to create a modern, easy-to-use machine.
Saeco coffee makers can be identified by the Saeco logo, which is usually on the front of the machine somewhere. These machines also sometimes have the Phillips logo as well.
