Tools

These are some common tools used to work on this device. You might not need every tool for every procedure.

Background

The Rival Crock Pot was released in the 70's as a new way to safely cook food over many hours. Consumers could start preparing a meal and leave it to cook in the crock pot while they spent their time doing other things.

The device uses an electric heating element to cook the food inside of it. It has two heating settings: a low setting and a high setting. The two main components in the device are the heating elements and the switch used to control the heating elements. Therefore a failure of the device is most likely to occur in one of those two main components.

Identification

"Rival Crock-Pot" is printed on the outside along with a floral design, and there is a sticker on the bottom that says model 3120. The control knob has three settings: off, low, and high.
