The Ridgid GEN5X R8642 was released in 2015. This reciprocating saw is used primarily in construction for demolition purposes. The saw has a stroke length of 1 1/8in with up to 3000 strokes per minute. The blades can be changed to different materials with various thicknesses such as metal or wood. The reciprocating saw can also be identified by its on/off orbital action, orbital for faster wood cutting and non orbital for metal cutting applications.

Identification

It can be identified by the identification tag on the side of the tool. On the tag you will find the tools model number. You will know if you have the right tool if the model number in the top left hand corner of the tag says R8642.
