Background and Identification
As of summer 2020, Google Nexus Tablet models include the Nexus 7, 9, and 10. First released in 2012, the Nexus 7 provided users with a 7-inch screen, 1 GB of memory, and a 1.2 GHz processor. Notable updates in the Nexus 9 and 10 include larger screen sizes, increased memory, and more powerful processing, resulting in faster response times. The Nexus 9 is the most recent model, with an 8.9-inch display, 2 GB of memory, and a 2.3 GHz processor. The Nexus 7 and 10 have been since discontinued, leaving only the Nexus 9 on the market.
All three models of the Google Nexus Tablet are thin touch screen surfaces with a plastic encasing and “nexus” engraved on the back of the device. The Nexus 7 is the smallest (7.81 in x 4.7 in for the 2012 version and 7.9 in x 4.5 in for the 2013 version). The Nexus 10 is substantially larger at 10.39 in x 6.99 in. Decreasing in size again, the Nexus 9 is 8.986 in x 6.050 in. The Nexus 9 currently comes in black, white, and beige, including a metallic rim and plastic exterior.
