Background and Identification
Hewlett-Packard (HP) manufactures consumer electronics, including laptops, desktops, printers, monitors, and more. HP originated in 1939 when Bill Hewlett and David Packard, two Stanford electric engineering alums, combined their last names and began their new company out of a garage in Palo Alto, California. Interestingly, HP was just a coin toss away from being called PH (Packard-Hewlett). Hewlett-Packard today is still headquartered in Palo Alto, but the company supplies electronics worldwide.
Among HP consumer electronics is the HP TouchSmart 600. The TouchSmart 600 is a touchscreen, all-in-one desktop computer. It aims to offer the processing power and productivity of a desktop computer with the added convenience of a touchscreen interface. The TouchSmart 600 also includes Beats Audio and is marketed by HP as allowing users to “play music the way it was meant to be heard.”
The HP TouchSmart 600 has both internal computer components and its touchscreen integrated into a black encasing. The computer also has a stand to prop it upright, allowing users to view it from a convenient angle when seated at a desk or table. The HP TouchSmart 600 has the HP logo on its front left corner, just below the screen.
