The HP EliteBook 840 G5 is in the newly manufactured wave of 800 G5 series released by HP in February of 2018 .The 840 G5 model has the choice of either the 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i5, i7 Processors and 7th generation Intel® Core™ i5 Processors depending on the users preferences. There is also a choice between a non-touch and touchscreen enabled version of the new EliteBook model. The 840 G5 features a third microphone to improve the ambient noise cancellation. The HP EliteBook 840 G5 has a quick-charging battery that reaches 50% battery level within 30 minutes, with the full battery life lasting up to 14 hours. The laptop has an optional HD and Infra Red camera addition.
HP describes the EliteBook line of laptops as being streamlined towards the business world, and users have enjoyed the amount of customizable options available with this newest model. With choices of display sizes, touchscreen capabilities, and memory sizes, the EliteBook 840 G5 can be customized to every user's preferences. The only major criticism of the newest generation EliteBook 840 is that the SD card reader has been removed from the fifth generation model.
