Background
The Selphy CP720 is one of a series of standalone photo printers made by Canon. Release in 2001, the printer was compatible with all versions of Windows from 95 to XP, and Mac OS devices. Legacy support and drivers were also available for Windows 7.
The Canon Selphy CP720 uses dye sublimation technology to create prints. It prints pictures at a rate of between 1 per 30 seconds to 1 per72 seconds, depending on the size being printed. The printer has a resolution of 300 dpi, and 256-bit color capability. According to Cannon, the photos can last up to 100 years.
Identification
The Selphy CP720 is a compact printer, measuring 7 x 4.9 x 2.5 inches and weighing 2.05 pounds. The printer comes primarily in white, though other colors, including black, are available. Identifying the model of the printer is made possible by the label on the front of the device declaring it to be “Compact Photo Printer Selphy CP720.”
