From 3.5e Monster Manual by Wizards of the Coast

Yrthaks are a rather curious creature. Nobody knows how such a thing came into existence. They are green in color, with large wings and a horn on its head known as a sonic lance. What it doesn't have on its head are eyes. In the yrthak's mouth, it's tongue has a special sensory organ that allows the creature to see. Its sonic lance has the ability to shoot sonic blasts at its enemies.
