Breadcrumbs and Categories
Hey JayLovee! I was hoping I could ask a small (huge) favor of ya-please leave the words at the bottom of a page alone when creating a new page? These items help sort articles on different search lists and show up tables for other users. It isn't the end of the world though so no worries. It would just help out anyone trying to make sure every page has categories and breadcrumbs! BigShotFancyMan (talk) 14:34, 30 July 2018 (MDT)
Hey! I uh, I don't actually know what you are referring to. I don't touch those, unless I'm adding in extra stuff like "campaign setting:ardalkhayan" or "supplement", but I've set the template up to add them by default along with the boxed campaign setting header. When creating new races and creatures I've just blanked out all the template info (the comment stuff), and changed the categories when necessary (only done this for the Pixies, when I changed from category:humanoid to category:fey, as I was told to). I was kinda half-awake when I started creating races and creatures for the bestiary last night, so if there's something I changed that I shouldn't have, would you mind letting me know more specifically? I'm more than happy to change (or not change) stuff to make it easier for others. JayeLovee (talk) 17:02, 30 July 2018 (MDT)
- [The bestiary for your supplement] was originally created without them. You can see my edit in the history where I added them. There's been a few other times with campaign setting supplement pages they are created without them. The breadcrumbs and categories are at the bottom/end of a page when you first create it. They are below four "-" marks. I can link other supplement pages that have been fixed but I think this will do.
- As a side note, breadcrumbs and categories don't show up on lists that get created when they are included inside a template. (Unless new mediawiki fixed this). They will show up on the page like normal, but they aren't found by "dpls" (separate topic).
- I hope this helps, if not, people smarter than I may have a better way with words explaining this. I do appreciate your willingness to help as well, very much appreciate :) BigShotFancyMan (talk) 17:34, 30 July 2018 (MDT)
Copyright Infringment
Hello, just letting you know you are being officially warned for uploading and illegally reproducing copyrighted material. If you have uploaded anymore copyrighted material that hasn't been deleted yet, please inform an administrator so it can be removed. Further reproducing of such content will lead to a length ban. Keep in mind there are several content creators who's work they believe you have stolen. —ConcealedLight
- To elaborate, to copy content from other sources onto the wiki, you need the permission of the original creator. Some of the time, this permission is given by way of the license the work might be under, as is the case with the various system reference documents, being licensed under the Open Gaming License. In this case however, the pages you are being warned for were all copied from Anthology of the Abtruse, and even though the material is available for free legally, the author has not given permission for others to copy the work to other places on the internet, and thus to do so constitutes a copyright violation. The next time you wish to copy something from another source to the wiki, check what license it's under, if any, and whether that license grants permission to reproduce the work. If the license does not grant permission, or the work does not have any license, contact the author and ask for permission. If you don't have permission, don't post it here. — Geodude
