Unholy Flame, Variant (5e Spell)

A sphere of black fire comes forth from your hands engulfing the area around you. Each creature in a 15-foot sphere originating from you must make a Dexterity saving throw. The target gains no benefit from cover for this saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 7d10 necrotic damage and can not regain hit points until the start of your next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and can regain hit points as normal.

Range: Self
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th Level or higher, the damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 1st.
