UA talk:Bell Curve Rolls
Question
In the 3d6 variant, what is counted as Nat. 20: only 18 or 16-18? Also, enlarging CH range looks counterproductive, as CH % is the same. --82.80.136.97 10:28, 25 October 2008 (MDT)
- Natural successes happen on 18 only (while natural failures happen on a 3 only)- this is stated under automatic successes and failures --DemonSlayer 09:56, 14 March 2009 (MDT)
Comment
I don't think they proof read this well enough. "the agony of the natural 1" Well.. You won't get "the agony of the natural 1", you can't roll a 1. Minimum you can roll is 3. --Sabre070 00:05, 19 February 2009 (MST)
- But can you imagine rolling three ones? The odds of a natural 1 are 1 in 20, the odds of three ones on a 3d6 is 1 in 216. It would be beyond epic fail. -- Jota 05:51, 19 February 2009 (MST)
- It says "players used to the agony of ...", which means it refers to the usual d20 system, not the bell curve. --DemonSlayer 09:52, 14 March 2009 (MDT)
Comment
"There's no table entry for a threat range of 16-20 because no combination of weapons, feats, and magic can attain it in the standard d20 rules"

- Swashbuckler isn't part of the standard d20 rules (i.e. in the PHB, DMG, MM or SRD). —Sledged (talk) 09:58, 1 March 2011 (MST)
gollark: And don't have to suffer random broken updates.
gollark: But at least I'm not constantly spied on by Microsoft.
gollark: Yes, it can, you can say basically anything.
gollark: Windows bad, solarflame5. Windows bad.
gollark: Anyway, AMD CPUs currently seem to be better in a significant majority of cases, although possibly not at the absolute top end for specifically gaming.
