The Cold

Contracting The Cold

When you are in an arctic environment if you are left in an area with lots of snow which you breathe in, the environment is below 0 degrees Fahrenheit and you don't have a nearby heat source for a day or more, you make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw and on failure, you start having coughs and choking occasionally, as you have caught The Cold. You cannot contract this disease is your have resistance or immunity to cold damage.

Effects

Coughing Fit Every hour you have the disease, you roll a 1d20, and on a 1 or 2 or at least 2 times a day have a coughing fit. If you fail, you need to make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw, or begin to cough and choke for a minute. If you roll a 1 you gain a level of exhaustion and if you roll a twenty you make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw, and are cured on a success.

When you have a coughing fit, you are suffocating and make a lot of noise and are incapacitated. You can use an action to make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, ending the coughing fit on a success.

Treatment

The Cold can also be cured by crafting a fruit juice from an uncommon fruit called Fuego Fructor, which can be found in the desert. This juice immediately cures disease immediately after only one dose. Additional cures include being in an area with an air temperature of at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit (21 degrees Celcius) for one day, using the lesser restoration spell, successfully passing a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or a DC 15 Medicine check once a long rest.
