Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a wizard) The Arcane Compendium is a leather bound book with a tree design on the front cover. A faint blue glow emanates from the pages. Many years ago a wizard that was a servant of the god of magic asked his god for an indestructible book within which he could record his life and all the spells he knew and would know, and his god granted him this book but said that he must put every spell he ever learned into it and so the Wizard feeling so very humbled by his God granting his request, wrote down every spell he ever knew into the book till the day he died the book now resides in the wizards tower(Your DM decides where the tower is) this wizard was considered to be the most powerful ever to exist many many people have heard of the book and it's origin, though as all tales it has been distorted by the passing of time and there are many versions of it, and while many people have been searching for this book for centuries none have even found the tower, until you... To attune to the Compendium you must have an Intelligence score of 20 or more and cast the identify spell on the book or succeed a DC 25 Arcana check. When you do either of these things, the book opens and the pages flutter to the back of the book where your names appear is fancy bold black script as well as any titles you may have, when you attune to the the Compendium a key appears on your wrist, the key itself is brown with no particular design on it, but the key is hung on your wrist by cord of pure gold with little arcane letters written on it, the key cannot be removed from your wrist except by a wish spell. The Compendium can only be opened with the key and when you hold the key in front of the Compendium a red lock will appear floating above the cover. This lock can only be unlocked with the key and by saying the command words "Et Magia, signatus est in Arcanis." The book closes and locks itself, it can be also locked with the key but otherwise, the Compendium stays unlocked.
