Talk:Protector (3.5e Creature)

Guardian

This class is designed to mimic the Big Daddies from the Games BioShock and BioShock 2, for a Campaign module that i am running that takes my players to rapture, the underwater city that these games take place in, i decided to post it on dandwiki so that other dms can use them instead of trying to make them, enjoy and i hope this helps. Why not just call it Big Daddy? JazzMan 19:15, 21 September 2010 (MDT)
i figured that it could be construed as a copyright if i named it such so Guardian will do haha Envoyof_aGod 09:35, 24 September 2010 (MDT)
Seeing as how you say in the page that you are ripping off Bioshock, it's not really avoiding copyright violations by just changing the name. As it is, I believe (but I'm not a lawyer so don't quote me on this) that creating a Big Daddy for D&D falls under Fair Use, and as such, is not a copyright violation. If you are worried about possibly infringing copyright, you can always add {{Copyright Disclaimer}} at the bottom of the page. JazzMan 13:52, 26 September 2010 (MDT)

why chaotic good?

Chaotic Good makes sense. These creature's sole purpose (Post-Rapture) is to protect the Little Sisters. They are only aggressive when they are attacked (Which is a normal reaction) or when their Little Sisters are under attack. Because they are protecting something that otherwise can not protect itself, it is considered "Good". However due to it's violent nature and inability to truly recognize friend from foe, it would be "Chaotic".
gollark: There's no explicit rate limiting.
gollark: That might be a better name.
