Talk:Pierrot (4e Class)

Status

I'm going to be running a campaign with a juggling Pierrot in it, so I will probably be balancing that build over the next couple of months. If there are any glaring errors, please point them out and I will try to fix them.

A second thing, I'm planning on making a Pugilist Pierrot that specializes in using their fists as their main weapon. That build is currently in the works, but if you have any ideas about it, I'll try to put them in.

Featured Article Nomination

This article did not become a featured article. --10:57, 23 August 2017 (MDT)
Please feel free to re-nominate it once it meets the FA criteria and when all the major issues brought up in this nomination have been dealt with.

I feel that this class would make a great featured article. It brings interesting mechanics into the game, with shouts and high combat fights, and is mostly complete. --Green Dragon (talk) 13:31, 7 February 2014 (MST)

hmm, well here's a balance issue straight off the bat. They have proficiency in "light blades", this doesn't preclude superior weapons. I'll have to go through with a fine-tooth comb and see if there's any other problems.
Also, since all the implement attacks are the card daily powers, I think the implement should be the deck of cards (instead of a weapon, which is something that is normally customized into with a feat, magic item, paragon path, etc) Marasmusine (talk) 14:20, 7 February 2014 (MST)
Yes, there are some balance issues that need to be addressed. I feel that what you mentioned above is a good start. Maybe it gets too many healing surges a day too- it is a defender not a support class.
I agree that the cards should be implements. It hints at this "These cards are stored in a deck on their person, and are used in conjunction with their Daily Powers", but does not implement it. This should be implemented too. --Green Dragon (talk) 12:11, 10 February 2014 (MST)
I've started work on Deck of Cards (4e Equipment), I need to make some magic variants, then I'll incorporate them into the class. Since they'll need their off-hand to use the cards, I need to make sure they retain a decent AC. Marasmusine (talk) 02:50, 21 June 2014 (MDT)
Ugh, the ability scores need reworking. Looking at the powers, the Daily powers use Charisma, the Encounter powers use Dexterity, and the at-wills use either Dexterity or Constitution or Charisma.
This means either your daily powers or encounter powers will have lower-than-expected attack rolls: or both if you pick the "pugilist" build.
What's worse is that none of the powers have a secondary ability score as a "kicker", so the class doesn't even support a primary/secondary ability split. Marasmusine (talk) 03:22, 21 June 2014 (MDT)
Do the power's ability scores make more sense now? I am not so sure what needs to be done with the missing At-Will powers. Do you think that this is okay, or not?
Some of the powers are not the same as the preload's format (in the respect of leveling). Do you have any comments here?
I also wonder if we should truncate the TOC so that it is not too terribly long. Do you have any comments here? --Green Dragon (talk) 10:40, 9 August 2014 (MDT)
  • Oppose It's an interesting start but I see these issues: 1) They use a unique implement. Although I created a |basic magic implement, there needs to be enchanted versions to support all tiers of play. 2) They get 5 at-will powers at level 1 (three class features, 2 attacks) which is top-heavy. It's not clear how you get the "Dropback" power. 3) There's nothing after level 2: I think a FA should at least get you to the end of the Heroic tier. Marasmusine (talk) 02:22, 16 October 2014 (MDT)
All the powers are there they just need to be moved to the new format. Pierrot Powers (4e Power List). --Green Dragon (talk) 14:36, 16 October 2014 (MDT)

This nomination was opened early 2014. It is now mid-2016. Pretty much two years. --Kydo (talk) 05:55, 11 September 2016 (MDT)

I failed this nomination since it has been going on for too long. --Green Dragon (talk) 10:57, 23 August 2017 (MDT)
gollark: ***HAIL TJ09***
gollark: It is not glitched. We are not worthy to understand the will of the God-Emperor.
gollark: Yet another thing on the pile of "Things TJ09 Must Fix but Never Will".
gollark: Unfortunately, probably.
gollark: Impossiblw.
