Spriggan (5e Class)
Spriggan
The Spriggans are known for a darker skin color and are usually associated with the color black. They are airworthy and masters of illusion and treasure hunting magic. For this reason, many think that the Spriggans are not a breed that is fit in battle. They are also called evil thieves, robbers, burglars and villains.
Creating a Spriggan
Why did your Spriggan choose to become a fighter? Does he want revenge on anyone? Does he want to protect his friends? Or does he even want to clear the name of the Spriggan?
- Quick Build
You can make a Spriggan quickly by following these suggestions. First, Wisdom should be your highest ability score, followed by Strength oder Dexterity. Second, choose the criminal background.
Class Features
As a Spriggan you gain the following class features.
- Hit Points
Hit Dice: 1d8 per Spriggan level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 8 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Spriggan level after 1st
- Proficiencies
Armor: Light armor
Weapons: Simple weapons and martial weapons
Tools: Thieve´s tools
Saving Throws: Dexterity and Wisdom
Skills: Choose two from Acrobatics, Arcana, Deception, Insight, Perception, Religion, Sleight of Hand and Stealth
- Equipment
You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:
- (a) a shortsword or (b) a longsword
- (a) 5 daggers & leather armor or (b) Studded leather armor
- (a) a burglar's pack or (b) a dungeoneer's pack or (c) an explorer's pack
- If you are using starting wealth, you have 4d4 × 10 gp in funds.

Darkvision
You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Metamorphosis
As a Spriggan you are able to transform yourself into a weak monster through your illusion magic.
As an action you can assume the form of a different creature for the up to 5 minutes. The new form can be of any creature with a challenge rating half your Wisdom Modifier rounded down or lower. The creature can't be a construct or an undead, and you must have seen the sort of creature at least once. You transform into an average example of that creature, one without any class levels or the Spellcasting trait. None of your Stats change (Ability Scores, Skills, Proficiencies, Hit Points and so on remain the same).
You retain the benefit of any features from your class, race, or other source and can use them, provided that your new form is physically capable of doing so. You can't use any special senses you have (for example, darkvision) unless your new form also has that sense. You can only speak if the creature can normally speak.
When you transform, you choose whether your equipment falls to the ground, merges into the new form, or is worn by it. Worn equipment functions as normal. The DM determines whether it is practical for the new form to wear a piece of equipment, based on the creature's shape and size. Your equipment doesn't change shape or size to match the new form, and any equipment that the new form can't wear must either fall to the ground or merge into your new form. Equipment that merges has no effect in that state.
During this spell's duration, you can use your action to assume a different form following the same restrictions and rules for the original form. You need to finish a short or long rest before you can use this feature again.
Spriggan´s Wings
Spriggans are able to fly with their own wings. The vibration of the wings makes a sound similar to that of a wind instrument. The Spriggan has a fly speed equal to his base speed, but he can't use his wings more than three minutes before taking a break. A Spriggan with this evolution that is incapacitated, paralyzed, restrained, stunned, magically put to sleep, or is otherwise rendered unable to fly takes appropriate falling damage. You need to finish a short or long rest before you can use this feature again.

Ability Score Increase
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
