Drider, Variant (5e Race)

Drider

Physical Description

Driders are a race of amethyst-purple skinned humanoids with five eyes in a symmetrical pattern on their otherwise human-shaped head, with one eye sitting perfectly vertical in the center of their forehead, two in the position of a regular human and another set of two positioned between their human eyes and center eye. Driders, unlike the common spider and more like humans, grow hair on their head which may be many colors but is typically a darker shade of purple. Driders have naturally sharper teeth, with most having two, if not more, fangs which protrude from the mouth.

Driders have eight-limbs much like the common spider, with three pairs of arms and two legs. Their limbs are generally quite thin as driders have a smaller frame and are a particularly nimble and dexterous people. Driders are naturally gifted crafters and are capable of utilizing each of their six hands with considerable skill.

History

Driders are one of many races of monstrous humanoids that were long trapped deep in the underground for much of history. After the barrier that kept the monsters trapped beneath the surface was broken, the driders emerged alongside the other monster races to make new lives for themselves on the surface.

Society

Driders are rather business driven. Most known driders run some sort of business be it selling food, tools, or services. Driders are extremely loyal to those they consider family such as other driders or even ordinary spiders. Driders can be easily convinced to do something if it would benefit their family, especially if there is a profit to be made doing so.

gollark: Why bother with all the collection nonsense, just name stuff!
gollark: No, I mean, if you name your dragon using the naming option with `Wyrm` in its name, it should count.
gollark: Dragons with `Wyrm` in their name - not their breed name, their name - should count.
