Creating a Soulfood Chef


Quick Build

You can make a Soulfood Chef quickly by following these suggestions. First, Charisma should be your highest ability score, followed by Wisdom. Second, choose the Cook ( https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Cook_(5e_Background) ) or the Folk Hero background. Third, choose a Long Bronze ladel, Large iron Pot, and 2 books a cookbook(Common recipes) and a book of spells(Voodoo/Hoodoo) as your equipment.

Class Features

As a Soulfood Chef you gain the following class features.

Hit Points

Hit Dice: 1d12 per Soulfood Chef level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 12 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d12 (or 7) + Constitution modifier per Soulfood Chef level after 1st

Proficiencies

Armor: none
Weapons: improvised weapons, simple weapons
Tools: Cook's utensils, Alchemist Supplies
Saving Throws: Charisma, Wisdom and Constitution
Skills: Choose 3 from Survival, Insight, Medicine, Performance, and Persuasion.

Equipment

You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • Long Bronze Ladel (Simple weapon +3 to hit 1d6 Bludgeoning damage) a small iron pot (Has a handle and can be held with one hand)
  • a small iron pot (Has a handle and can be held with one hand)
  • A Cookbook filled with basic soulfood classics and food of the common man
  • (a) A book of Black Hoodoo Magic or (b) A book of White Hoodoo Magic
  • A blank recipe book
  • If you are using starting wealth, you have 4d4x5 in funds.

Ability Score Improvement

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
