Size Conditions (5e Variant Rule)
This variant rule is used to supplement existing conditions with the two conditions below. These conditions build upon the effects of the spell enlarge/reduce.
If a creature is simultaneously enlarged and reduced, the two conditions negate each others' effects while both persist.
Enlarged
- An enlarged creature is one size larger than normal; a Medium creature becomes Large, for example. The creature's size doubles in all dimensions, and its weight is multiplied by eight.
- All the creature's equipment is similarly enlarged. If an enlarged item leaves the creature's person, it returns to its normal size.
- The target has advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
- The target has disadvantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.
- The target's speed is increased by 10 feet.
- The target's enlarged weapons deal an extra 1d4 damage.
Reduced
- A reduced creature is one size smaller than normal; a Medium creature becomes Small, for example. The target's size is halved in all dimensions, and its weight is reduced to one-eighth of normal.
- All the creature's equipment is similarly reduced. If an enlarged item leaves the creature's person, it returns to its normal size.
- The target has disadvantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
- The target has advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks.
- The target's speed is reduced by 10 feet.
- The target's reduced weapons deal 1d4 less damage (this can't reduce the damage below 1).
