3e Summary::Creatures that came in contact with high concentrations of magic, strengthening their arcane at the price of their body.
Description
The infected creature's cells slowly absorb the magic inside and around them, giving them a greater mastery over the arcane but slowly turning their body in a crystal, which will then become a new source of infection. Infected don't always show exterior signs of infection, making the illness difficult to diagnose.

Special Qualities
Arcane Assimilation : Because of the high quantity of magic in their body, Oripathy infected spellcasters gain an additional spell of a chosen level per day every three HD after aquisition of this template. The spell level chosen cannot of be the highest known by the caster.
Cellular Arcane Absorbtion : due to the magic absorbed by their cells, Oripathy infected are more powerful when casting arcane spells. they are considered one level higher in order to calculate the range, area of effect, number of dice roll and other numbers affected by the caster's level. The DC of their spells is also augmented by 1.
Oripathy : Whenever a creature comes in contact with an infected, they must succeed a DC 12 Fortitude save or contract Oripathy as well. When coming in contact with a source of infection, such as the cristallized body of a deceased infected or through a blood transfusion, the DC becomes 25. Each day, an infected creature must succeed a DC 20 Fortitude saving throw or lose 1d4 Dexterity and 1d4 Constitution. Two succesful Fortitude saves in a row do not allow the creature to recover, nor does a "cure desease" spell, but the spell slow the progression of the illness, like a successful Fortitude saving throw, for 24 hours. A "Greater Restoration" spell cures the subject of Oripathy, they recover all ability points they lost and keep the "extra spells" feat, but lose all other effects of Oripathy.
Spell resistance : The creature gains a spell resistance equal to their HD.
