Shadowknight (3.5e Prestige Class)

Shadowknight

As Paladins see themselves as champions of righteousness, bringing holy order to chaotic lands, Shadowknights see themselves as champions of freedom, breaking the chains of order wherever they seek to bind the unwitting. Shadowknights are champions of chaos, using a combination of deceptive stealth and terrifying brutality to fight a war that has been going on since the creation of the multiverse.

Shadowknights serve as terrifying assassins, selecting targets not for gold but based on the nature of their targets. A Shadowknight might be an abolitionist, using brutal violence as a way to terrify slavers and those sympathetic to them, viewing blood as the only way to bring freedom to the world. A Shadowknight might be a Kingslayer, slaying rulers of realms in order to promote conditions of chaos and destroy the structures set up by order. Whatever their cause, a Shadowknight is motivated by a deep hatred of their targets and what they stand for, and carry their rage into their murders.

gollark: I opened an instance to the internet for demo purposes, including to a bunch of esolang programmers, and it's actually overrun with self replicating notes now.
gollark: I have my own custom webapp for note taking which I never actually use. It's also stuck eternally at about 80% finished like all my programming projects.
