Amorphous. The snatcher can move through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.

Innate Spellcasting. The snatcher's spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 15). The snatcher can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: darkness, misty step
3/day each: fear, sleep
1/day: plane shift (self only)

Shadow Stealth. While in dim light or darkness, the snatcher can take the Hide action as a bonus action.

Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the snatcher has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The snatcher makes two attacks with its claws.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) slashing damage, plus 10 (3d6) necrotic damage.
A humanoid slain by this attack rises 24 hours later as a shadow under the snatcher's control, unless the humanoid is restored to life or its body is destroyed. The snatcher can have no more than four shadows under its control at one time. A shadow created in this way cannot create other shadows.

Shadow snatchers are vile predators from the Shadowfell that lurk in dark places, such as rickety manors and ancient ruins, ambushing anything that draws near. Legends state that they were once humans that attempted to use magic to destroy the Plane of Shadow, then absorb the remains to become immortal. The ritual failed, and the shadow that washed through them transformed their bodies into mostly ephemeral shadow, and drove their minds to insane evil. They are lazy, but they have a deep hatred creatures that cast shadows, for they cast no shadows. They believe that casting a shadow causes creatures to be attuned to the Shadowfell, and so slay creatures with impunity, stealing their shadows to serve as undead minions. They also hate sunlight, as countless centuries dwelling in the darkness has caused them to falter at its touch.

Shadowy Nature. A shadow snatcher doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.
