Correspondence Casting. When creature is damaged by a spell the senior scrivener cast, it must make a Wisdom saving throw, the DC of which is 12 + the damage taken. On a failed save, they become frightened until the end of their next turn.

Immutable Form. The senior scrivener is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

Innate Spellcasting. The senior scrivener's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 20). The senior scrivener can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: counterspell, detect magic, identify, magic missile, shatter, thunderwave
3/day each: glyph of warding, hold monster, legend lore, private sanctum, teleportation circle
1/day each: disintegrate, scrying, symbol

Limited Magic Immunity. The senior scrivener can't be affected or detected by spells of 5th level or lower unless it wishes to be. It has advantage on saving throws against all other spells and magical effects.

Magic Weapons. The senior scrivener's weapon attacks are magical.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The senior scrivener makes two claw attacks and can cast a spell.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 27 (6d6 + 6) slashing damage.

Once, it is said, there was a great library where the suns kept records of their laws. But disaster struck, and the library was destroyed and strewn across the astral plane. Now its librarians seek its ruins and texts.
The senior scrivener was an ancient servitor of the stars, feared among even its own kind: the scrive-spinsters, tall as giants, wrought of bronzewood and clad in tatters of paper, who once managed the greatest library of heaven. Since its destruction they are bereft, and keep to forgotten places unless roused by the scent of paper and ink. They drift like manta rays through the void. The spinsters sew sheaves of parchment into their coats and wigs. Yellowed with age, blotched with mildew, spidered with writing, their gowns are stitched from the pages they managed to salvage: litanies of dead conjunctions; locations of destroyed libraries; compendiums of the myths of the stars.
They harbor a particular hatred for devils.

gollark: No, the better compiler being WHYJIT.
gollark: GCC banned you? That must be very problematic.
gollark: I'm not on CodersNet or SC right now.
gollark: Yes. I have successfully made hundreds of "networking cables" and "cables" from iron nuggets/stone and redstone.
gollark: The thing is that unless you have a perfectly straight run light would still need to bounce off the walls of it (which would need to be very very good mirrors, which is very hard).
