Salazzle (5e Race)

Salazzle

Physical Description

A salazzle. Source

Salazzles are Pokémon resembling a whiptail lizard. They have a thin, dark grey body with a purple underside. Their body has three pink markings, one on the chest, which splits to form a 'U' shaped design, and the other two on the abdomen, forming two 'f'-shaped patterns. These markings almost look like flames. Their head is dark grey with purple eyes with several tooth-like protrusions on the lower jaw. They have a long tail with a pink underside with two protrusions coming out form the tail's base. Their has hands with five long and thin digits and likewise on it's feet.

Some specimens have been found that possess a differing skin color, where their ordinarily dark grey body is instead white.

History

Salazzles, along with their harems of Salandits, were first discovered in the caves of volcanic areas, as well as the neighboring jungles, of the tropical Alola region. Rumor has it that an exceptionally large Salazzle resided at the top of the volcano and was befriended by a man who studied the island region's traditional dances.

Society

These toxic lizards have a rather unique society, as juvenile Salazzles known as Salandits only develop into Salazzles if they are female, with females largely being a minority of Salandits. However, if and when a female Salandit does develop into a Salazzle, she will release a sweet smelling poisonous gas filled with pheromones that attract male Salandits to her, causing them to obey her every command, effectively creating a so-called "reverse harem". The pheromones are so potent that they have even been known to have an effect on other creatures and even people, but this hasn't stopped people from diluting said poison and producing perfume from it.

Most of the time, Salazzle will demand food from her Salandits. If a Salandit fails to bring her food, it is punished with a flame-imbued slap. Because male Salandits surrender most of their food to Salazzle, it is theorized that the reason males don't develop into Salazzles is due to malnutrition.

Salazzle Names

Salazzle, being a female only race, have names that are usually feminine and more often than not draconic.
