Choosing a Race
Only races listed here are standard in The Legend of Zelda, monster races do exist, though they are not always intended for players as they may or may not fit the story, or campaign feel. Choosing a race is a difficult task, considering the number of races on the world. Be careful and thoughtful in your choice, since it affects the rest of your game.
Races of The Legend of Zelda

| Hylian | Humanoid (Elf) | The rulers of Hyrule, made in the image of the Goddesses. |
| Goron | Monstrous Humanoid (Earth, Fire) | Rock-like folk from the volcanic regions. |
| Zora | Humanoid (Aquatic) | Lithe, shark-like folk. Commonly found near water. |
| Kokiri | Fey (Spirit) | Childlike fey who dwell in the forest. |
| Deku Scrub | Plant | Seed-spitting ambulatory plants with human-shaped roots. |
| Gerudo | Humanoid | Infamous scoundrels that reside in deserts. |
| Rito | Avian Humanoid | Human-bird hybrids who live on volcanic islands. |
| Twili | Fey (spirit) | A peaceful race of beings that come from the Twilight Realm. |
| Fairy | Fey (spirit) | A diminutive race of winged fey people. |
