Plaguetouched (5e Class)

Plaguetouched

You were travelling down the road as usual when a strange hooded figure approached you. A chuckled emanated from under the hood, the stranger calling you a "great candidate" before laying a hand on you. Burning pain burst through you as you passed out. When you awoke you went to grab your gear and leave, only for it to start decaying before your eyes. You dropped it, looking at your hands, finding a small scar on your dominant hand. What had that stranger done to you?

Decaying Touch

Your very touch causes things to decay rapidly. Starting at 1st level, any nonmagical item you touch with your dominant hand starts to decay (tiny objects in 1 round, small in 1d4, etc). Starting at 4th level you can decay plant matter and all objects decay faster (tiny objects instantly, small in 1 round, etc.). Starting at 1st level you may make a touch attack with disadvantage. If you succeed you deal 2d6 Necrotic damage and roll a d6 on the chart below to decide where you touched them. If the target doesn't have the appendage, you touch whatever appendage it has in place of it, or what it uses as that appendage (ex. if you touch a creatures arm but it only has tentacles, you treat it as if you touched an arm as long as it can use the tentacles for such.). This damage increases to 2d8 at 4th level, 2d10 at 8th, 2d12 at 12th, 3d10 at 16th level, and 3d12 at 19th level.

Your Plague DC= 8 + Charisma modifier + proficiency bonus

1-2: You touch the target's leg. They must roll a DEX saving throw against your Plague DC or have their movement speed cut in half until your next turn.

3-4: You touch the target's arm. They must roll a DEX saving throw against your Plague DC or have disadvantage on their next attack.

5: You touch the target's body. They must roll a STR saving throw against your Plague DC or have their AC reduced by 2.

6: You touch the target's head. They must roll a CON saving throw against your Plague DC or become Blinded until your next turn

Poison Resistance

Your Plague kills off any other poison material in your body. Starting at 2nd level, you have resistance to poison damage and are immune to the Poisoned condition

Disease Immunity

The Plague is the only disease allowed in your body. Starting at 2nd level, you are immune to diseases.

Plaguetype

At 3rd level, you chose a Plaguetype. Choose between Necrotic Healing or Pestilent Presence, both detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at 3rd level and again at 6th, 10th and 15th.

Ability Score Increase

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Pestilent Aura

Your Plague has become noticeable to those around you. Starting at 5th level, creatures with a Wisdom score higher than 4 are weary of you and have disadvantage on Charisma skill checks against you.

Blood of the Afflicted

Your Disease courses stronger through your body, strengthening it. Starting at 7th level You gain +2 AC

Pestilent Spit

The Plague running through you has begun to mutate strangely. Starting at 9th level you may target a 5ft radius area within 20ft. You spit a ball of disease that causes 4d8 Necrotic damage to all creatures within its area. Any creature that end its turn in this area takes 4d8 Necrotic damage. This effect ends after 5 rounds and use is regained after a short or long rest.

Improved Decay

Your decay can rot even those that are already rotten. Starting at 11th level Necrotic damage dealt with your Plaguetouched Features ignore resistance and immunity. You also add your Constitution modifier and proficiency bonus to all Necrotic damage dealt by your Plaguetouched Features.

Rotten Core

You've become as rotten as those in your wake. Starting at 13th level, you gain +3 AC and gain resistance to Necrotic damage and advantage on saving throws against Necrotic damage.

Infected Reflexes

Your Plague has heightened your reflexes. Starting at 14th level you gain proficiency with Dexterity saving throws. If you already have it, double your proficiency bonus for it. You also no longer have disadvantage when making a Decaying Touch attack.

Afflicted Expertise

Your Rot has made you better than ever. Starting at 17th level you can choose 2 skill checks or saving throws you have proficiency with and double your proficiency bonus for those checks or saves.

Cursed Decay

Your Decay has become more powerful. Starting at 18th level your Decaying Touch attacks can decay magical items, removing the enchantment or charges before rotting the object.

Rotten Scourge

You're so rotten the undead see you as one of their own. Starting at 19th level when an undead attacks you, that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your Plague DC. On a failed save, the creature must choose a different target, or the attack automatically misses. On a successful save, the creature is immune to this effect for 24 hours. The creature is aware of this effect before it makes its attack against you. You can also control a number of undead you've stumble across with total CR equal to half your Plaguetouched level + Charisma modifier.

Pandemic

Your Plague has reached its peak, capable of infecting others. Starting at 20th level when you succeed a Decaying Touch attack you may choose to pass the Plague to them, giving them one level in Plaguetouched over the course of 1d6 days. You are permanently psychically connected with those you turn, capable of speaking telepathically with them over any distance and even across planes, and you are always aware of their location.

Necrotic Healing

You've learned how to turn your Decaying Touch around. Starting at 3rd level, you may use your Decaying Touch attack to heal a target for the same damage it would deal. You may use this a number of times equal to your Plaguetouched level and uses are restored on a short or long rest. you also gain proficiency with Medicine. If you already are, you can double your proficiency modifier for Medicine skill checks.

Radiant Necrosis

You've begun purifying your Disease. Starting at 6th level whenever you would deal Necrotic damage with a Plaguetouched Feature, you may have it deal Radiant damage instead. It still benefits from all bonuses your Necrotic damage gets.

Plagued Healing

At 10th level you can now draw others poisons into yourself. As an action, you may touch one target to remove one condition from them. This counts towards your Necrotic Healing uses.

Break the Curse

After many failed attempts you've now harnessed the power of your plagued blood. Starting at 15th level you may spend every day for 1d6 months in an alchemist's lab to create a potion that, when consumed, makes one immune to disease and the Poisoned condition. You automatically gain one of these upon reaching 15th level.

Pestilent Presence

Your Plague can no longer be contained by your body. Starting at 3rd level you have an aura that extends 5ft around you that deals your Decaying Touch damage to any creature that ends its turn within the area.

Illusion of Control

You've begun to control your Disease...you think. Starting at 6th level you may choose up to your Charisma modifier worth of creatures you can see. They are immune to the effects of your AOE Plaguetouched Features.

Frightening Plague

Creatures fear the Plague within you, and for good reason. Starting at 10th level any creature dealt damage by your Pestilent Presence must attempt a Wisdom saving throw against your Plague DC or become Frightened of you for 1d4 rounds. Your Pestilent Presence aura also extends to 10ft from you.

Forced Apoptosis

The cells of even your enemies bends to your will. Starting at 15th level you may target a 15ft cube within 60ft of you. All creatures within it must attempt a Constitution saving throw taking 10d6 Necrotic damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. If they failed they must attempt all four of your Decaying Touch saves, taking your Decaying Touch damage for each failed save and following the Decaying Touch Table, or taking no damage and ignoring the Table for each success.

gollark: oh no.
gollark: I guess `x.split(/\.\s/)` might work?
gollark: `x.split(". ")`, the marginally less obvious way, will both get confused in cases of bad grammar and linebreaks after periods.
gollark: `x.split(".")`, the obvious way, doesn't work if I decide to write, say, "potatOS.something does bees".
gollark: That might interact oddly with formatting (e.g. markdown) and also that's actually quite hard.
