Also called a main-gauche, a dagger with a slightly longer and broader blade than usual, with a dull edge and sharpened tip, and an unusually long crossguard. It is used as a defensive side arm in dueling and fencing.

Special. You can use your bonus action to treat this dagger as a shield, adding 1 to your AC until the start of your next turn. When you do so, this dagger isn't considered a weapon for the purposes of features like the dueling Fighting Style. In addition, when you take this bonus action, you can use your reaction to give disadvantage to a creature that attacks you with a melee weapon.
