Most orc leaders gain power within their tribes by virtue of being strong enough to best any challengers to their claims. The strongest orc leads the tribe, while the rest fight amongst themselves until an orc strong enough to challenge the leader of the tribe arises and either claims leadership or dies in the attempt.
From time to time, however, an orc arises with just the right mixture of charisma and cunning to command and control their chaotic brethren. Provided that this orc is also strong enough to survive early leadership struggles, the orc will almost inevitably find itself at the head of a vast horde of warriors. This horde will run rampant over the lands of other races until it is dispersed and perhaps the most effective way is to slay the orc sovereign at the head of it, though this task is easier said than done, as any orc sovereign has triumphed in countless contests for leadership and invariably bears the blessings of the orc gods, not to mention any magical equipment it has gathered during its raids.
Such an orc is the stuff of nightmares to any member of the more sophisticated races, from the lowliest soldier or guard to the greatest noble or king, but they are all too real, if incredibly rare.

gollark: I've never actually written OC code intensive enough for it to be a problem. But I don't use OC much, because I generally want to just plonk down a cheap computer to control one specific fiddly task.
gollark: It has RAM limits for example. That is not a bug.
gollark: Not buggy, limited...
gollark: It does deliberately apply limits to stuff which CC doesn't.
gollark: Well, and the stuff it uses as modules.
