Nyanya (3.5e Race)
Nyanya
"Muffins!" -White Fang
Personality
Dreaming of the stars on high
That speak to me in secret sighs
Drifting on a breeze
Only I can feel and hear
Could it be the sacred wind
That's pulling me to now begin
To walk into the dark
Carrying the light of tomorrow
Need to walk the wings of high
Beyond the earth, beyond the sky
don't hesitate
Don't look back we've got to go now
Don't fear
You'll be safe with the one
Morning star watching over all
Deep inside so silently
My heart must beat
Deep inside of me
Memories flickering and shimmering on
Endlessly
Keeping close to the path
Morning star watching over all
Moving over endless mountains up so high
Walking to the light
Your heart will
See the path and you will find your way
Just wait and see
Moving under endless skies oh so high
Tomorrow we'll follow, when in doubt,
Your promises today
Just wait and see

Physical Description
The Nyanya is an anthropomorphic cat race that are known to appear in three variations of their species in the world of Aum, all of which have proven to being quick-witted, acrobatic, and very attentive to their surroundings, especially in the presence of other races as Nyanya have to be weary of other species' temperaments. Nyanya are slim yet curvaceous humanoids whose bodies are naturally covered in a thin layer of vellus hair that is short, thin, slight-colored, and barely noticeable following the color patterns found normally on a feline's fur coat. Nyanya typically have curled ears that reach half a foot's length, with tips pointing backwards having the flexibility to rotate their ears down, back, and upright which are important in Nyanya culture as body language is how the Nyanya often communicate their emotions while communicating verbally. Nyanya have humanoid hands with opposable thumbs, humanoid feet with feline claws similar to a lion's set, being able to protract from sheaths of skin to grab or attack targets using muscles and tendons. Nyanya take pride in showing off their strong whip-like tails that reach 8 feet in length with the ends growing two feet of thick, long, and dark terminal hair that will wauf their pheromones during the mating seasons. Nyanya have Central Heterochromia which is where there are two different colors within the same eye, still having vertical slit pupil, colors range between Rutilated Quartz Gold, Citrine Orange, Emerald Green, Turquoise Blue, and Amethyst Pink. Very rare and highly prized colors are Amber Red, Opal White, Onyx Black, and Spinel Magenta. Most Nyanya's height ranges from 4 feet to 5 feet, with a max peak reaching 9 feet and 6 inches as this race is not typically known to being extremely tall.
Relations
The Nyanya abhor the Draconis Kingdom and everything it stands for in it's pursuit for reptilian supremacy, as the Nyanya have not forgotten the crimes committed in the past against the other nations and for this reason the Nyanya make no attempts in providing peace treaties or trade with them. The Nyanya are firm allies with the Kyrii homeland Sinsaradin Kingdom, having helped both nations prosper with their trade route that specifically exports rare exotic materials such as Mother of Pearl, Silk, White Gold, Sugar, Coffee and rare fruit with the exchange being given the vast knowledge the Kyrii keep and write about, thus giving the Nyanya a better education for their people. The Nyanya look to the Kyrptos Kingdom with interest, as witchery magic has been held as the primary sacred secret of that nation for centuries, keeping it intact even when there was no rulers to lead that kingdom. This has deeply impressed the Nyanya but also left them curious as to the nature of the denizens living there since its been reported to having undead races who've made no attempts in being aggressive with others. The Nyanya see the Tessai of Pindar Kingdom as giant warriors who could easily become tyrannical like Draconis Kingdom, though the Nyanya will agree that the Tessai have more honor and codes of conduct then the Duroc do of Orcrist Kingdom. Both nations are ones that the Nyanya prefer to keep a safe distance from, feeling there would be no benefit to gain but instead be dragged into aggressive political garbage.
Alignment
Nyanya follow both the Neutral and Good paths, as this race prefer to keep to their own nation's prosperity, ensuring that their home is protected, their culture is preserved, and their allies are not compromised by the unscrupulous political agendas of other nations. Nyanya love nature, but more importantly, they hold a deep connection to the spiritual realm within the World of Aum where all life is sacred and to be treated with mindful respect. Some Nyanya feel more passionately then others about their goals and the needs of their race, thus can be found to lean on the chaotic side, being more open to making extreme choices for the betterment of Adriatic Island then most are comfortable with. Evil is not tolerated on Adriatic Island, and any found with such tendencies are excommunicated from the Nyanya's homeland forever into a lifetime of exile.
Lands
The Nyanya dwell on Adriatic Island, which is 224,533 square miles large with 3,000 miles of coastline. Adriatic Island is a tropical land filled with vast dense rainforests whose canopies are multilayered and continuous, allowing little light penetration. Most of Adriatic Island experiences a sunny and warm climate throughout the year as very few places experience high temperatures above 100°F (38°C) given daily high temps average near 80°F (27°C), while in the far-southern part of Adriatic Island the mid to high 80's are common. Adriatic Island is the most prosperous in agriculture, as 100 acres of land is farmland cultivated on rich black soil containing a high percentage of humus, phosphoric acids, phosphorus, and ammonia while also being mixed with Silt (fine sand, clay, or other material carried by running water and deposited as a sediment, especially in a channel or harbor.) which is sustained by a canal made to link from the coastline to the farmland itself. The ruling kingdom at the central focus of the island is Mali'Teke Kingdom.
Religion
Nyanya believe strongly in the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect); despite a Nyanya's mischievous natural instincts, it is part of Nyanya's education starting from the age of comprehension that Fate is the true ruler to all on Aum, and not even the gods are exception to this law, and that in all things, one is to be careful about every moral decision and instinctual action as there are consequences that doesn't just effect the individual but to those around them as well.
Royalty
The Nyanya have always had the Akhenaton Family serve as royalty since the beginning of their race as the stories say; the god who created the Nyanya, Kyrii, and Dirus Dominus was said to have selected a family that the deity in turn blessed with partial divinity, granting them supernatural gifts that would allow that bloodline to serve faithfully to the people as a guide and servant to the gods. Since those ancient times, the Akhenaton Family has remained pure, but this is due to their members practicing incest as in order to preserve their inborn powers, it was the duty of the father to intimately bond with the mother and daughter(s) to produce strong male heirs that would lead their race.
Language
Nyanya's primary language is a form of Feline known as "Nyan" which often involves different pitches of mews, meows, hisses, purrs, and catcalling along with their words, though body language is preferably used while communicating verbally. The other languages the Nyanya prefer to learn is Sylvan, Common, and Squeak Speak to better communicate with the Kyrii and their allies as its a formal courtesy.

Female Nyanya names: Net, Isis, Ebony, Lapis, Nefertiti, Rania, Nubia, Kamilah, Rashida
Nyanya (Pureblood) Racial Traits
These Nyanya take more feline characteristics, but not enough to be considered feral as they do retain humanoid features close to humans still and are not compelled so much by instincts that it dominates their ability to think rationally; however, the Pureblooded Nyanya are the most mischievous in nature by far, spending most of their free time pranking, being carefree, and not being above theft as their love of living outside the confines of society tends to make them "rebellious".
- -1 Strength, +4 Dexterity, -1 Constitution, +2 Charisma; Pureblooded Nyanya are fast and cunning, but not as strong or durable as their other kin.
- Humanoid (Feline)
- Medium
- Nyanya (Pureblood) base land speed is 40 feet: Climb 20 feet
- Low-Light Vision: Nyanya can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
- Feline Reflexes: Nyanya (Pureblood) have the innate ability to orient itself as it falls in order to land on its feet. The righting reflex begins to appear at 3–4 weeks of age, and is perfected at 6–7 weeks. Nyanya (Pureblood) are able to do this because they have an unusually flexible backbone and no functional clavicle (collarbone). The minimum height required for this to occur in most felines (safely) would be around 30 feet. Nyanya that have lost their tail still gain this benefit since Nyanya mostly moves its hind legs and relies on conservation of angular momentum to set up for landing.
- One with Nature: Nyanya (Pureblood) are naturally adept at acrobatics and sneaking about. Hide, Jump, Move Silently, and Survival checks gain an innate +6 bonus when performed by a Nyanya.
- Cat Senses: A Nyanya (Pureblood) has the Scent ability. They also gain a +6 to Spot and Listen checks. Unfortunately, he suffers a −6 to any check made to overcome distractions that coincide with catfolk obsessions.
- Hard to Track: [[Pass without trace]]. The Nyanya (Pureblood) is so in tune with nature that while in forests and jungles they leave no noticeable scent or tracks. Those who wish to bypass this must make a DC 20 Survival + Nyanya (Pureblood) Charisma modifier check in order to pick up the trail.
- Luck of the Gods: 3/day all rolls made by the Nyanya (Pureblood) that result in a "1" are not critical failures, and all felines that stand within 10ft of the aura emanating around the Nyanya will gain a +5 bonus to their rolls and gain one reroll on a failed dice roll with advantage. If the Nyanya (Pureblood) wishes to suppress this aura, they must do so by succeeding on a Will Save (15 + Cha Modifier) to suppress this for 24 hours, gaining a -2 penalty on all rolls for the remainder of the day.
- Lucky Cat (Ex): Nyanya (Pureblood) seem unusually lucky all the time. They gain a +4 bonus to all saving throws.
- Spirit Touch (Su): With a prolonged touch, a Nyanya (Pureblood) can gain momentary insight into a soul. The touch acts like a Detect spell. The Detect ability has the range of touch, not of a Detect spells cone. As such, the Detect ability cannot show multiple auras. To resist this ability, the one subject to the touch must make a Will save equal to 10 + 1/2 the Nyanya (Pureblood) level + the Nyanya (Pureblood) Charisma bonus (minimum +1).
- Automatic Languages: Nyan (Feline), Sylvan, Common. Bonus Languages: Squeak Speak, Spirit Tongue.
- Favored Class: Rogue
- Level Adjustment: +2
Nyanya (Domesticated) Racial Traits
- +2 Dexterity, +1 Intelligence, +1 Wisdom; Nyanya (Domesticated) are very bright and intelligent compared to their other kin, but being a bookworm has the drawbacks of being less aggressive and not entirely socially adept as they prefer to focus on researching topics to improve their skills and their race's culture overall rather than get caught up in politics or brawling.
- Humanoid (Feline)
- Medium
- Nyanya (Domesticated) base land speed is 30 feet: Climb 25 feet
- Low-Light Vision: Nyanya can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
- Feline Sensibility: Nyanya (Domesticated) can make an opposed Sense Motive check on a target if they've attempted a Bluff check or are avoiding the Nyanya's (Domesticated) directness altogether. DC Will Save is 20 + target's Cha modifier, but if beaten, the Nyanya (Domesticated) gains Zone of Truth vs that target for the remainder of the day.
- Spiritual Senses: Nyanya (Domesticated) can see ethereal beings, objects, and creatures at will due to their intensive study into the powers granted to the Akhenaten Family.
- The Furtive Pugilist: Nyanya (Domesticated) have Improved Unarmed Strike, and can deal either bludgeoning or slashing damage. If they pick up the feat or obtain improved unarmed strike from somewhere else, this instead increases the size of the damage by one, though the base damage for unarmed strike is 1d6 for a Nyanya (Domesticated). Nyanya (Domesticated) also gain Flurry of Blows like Monk due to Adriatic Island requiring even the pacifists to learn some form of self-defense, which for most Nyanya (Domesticated) is martial arts.
- The Nine Lives: Nyanya (Domesticated) gains a +6 to any saving roll versus effects that causes dying , such as death-like Curses/Supernatural abilities/Spell effects like Wail of the Banshee and Disintegrate.
- Feline Reflexes: Nyanya (Domesticated) have the innate ability to orient itself as it falls in order to land on its feet. The righting reflex begins to appear at 3–4 weeks of age, and is perfected at 6–7 weeks. Nyanya (Domesticated) are able to do this because they have an unusually flexible backbone and no functional clavicle (collarbone). The Detect ability has the range of touch, not of a Detect spells cone. As such, the Detect ability cannot show multiple auras. To resist this ability, the one subject to the touch must make a Will save equal to 10 + 1/2 the Nyanya (Domesticated) level + the Nyanya (Domesticated) Charisma bonus (minimum +1).
- Automatic Languages: Nyan (Feline), Sylvan, Common. Bonus Languages: Squeak Speak, Spirit Tongue.
- Favored Class: Archivist
- Level Adjustment: +3
