ACTIONS

Multiattack. The nuckelaveee makes two attacks with its claws.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) slashing damage. If both claw attacks hit the same target they take an additional 9 (2d8) slashing damage.

Stomp. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d10 + 4) bludgeoning damage.

Horrifying Visage. Any creature that starts its turn within 30 feet of the nuckelavee and can see it must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of its turns, with disadvantage if the nuckelavee is in its line of sight. If the creature succeeds on its saving throw, or the effect ends early for it, it is immune to the nuckelavee's Horrifying Visage for the next 24 hours.

Poison Breath (Recharge 5-6). The nuckelavee exhales a breath of poisonous gas in a 60-foot cone. Any creature within the area must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw, taking 45 (10d8) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS

The nuckelavee can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The nuckelavee regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Detect. The nuckelavee makes a Wisdom (Perception) check.
Stomp Attack. The nuckelavee makes a stomp attack.
Spin (Costs 2 Actions). The nuckelavee spins its humanoid torso with its arms stretched, it makes a claw attack at every creature within 30 feet of itself.

The nuckelavee is both an undead and in a way, a fey creature. A nuckelavee's horse body doesn't have skin, leaving black muscles and bones visible, the humanoid body that is connected to its back looks the same. The nuckelavee's scream is a sound that seems to come straight from nightmares. It is a destructive creature, seeking more to cause chaos and mayhem, than anything else.
Nuckelavees prefer to live in swamps, where it can easily hide, and stalk their prey. However, a nuckelavee usually leaves its territory to seek villages or other settlements to destroy.

Undead Nature. A nuckelavee doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.
