Death Burst. When the magmorte dies, it explodes in a burst of fire and magma. Each creature within 15 feet of it must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 21 (6d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. Flammable objects that aren't being worn or carried in that area are ignited.

Ignited Illumination. As a bonus action, the magmorte can set itself ablaze or extinguish its flames. While ablaze, the magmorte sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The magmorte makes two melee attacks and uses its Fire Breath if it can.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (3d8 + 3) piercing damage, plus 7 (2d6) fire damage.

Touch. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (4d6) fire damage. If the target is a creature or a flammable object, it ignites. Until a creature takes an action to douse the fire, the creature takes 10 (3d6) fire damage at the end of each of its turns.

Fire Breath (Recharge 6). The magmorte exhales a 30-foot cone of fire. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 21 (6d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Selfish pyromaniacs from the Elemental Plane of Magma, a magmorte cares only to burn things. They have hulking bodies made from magma and stone, all in a thin stony shell that forms a vaguely humanoid shape, but with arms that are out of proportion with the rest of its body and a vast mouth full of jagged, stony teeth. A magmorte loves watching fire, and thinks nothing of the destruction that it causes. They often serve powerful beings of fire, such as dragons or efreet, and in turn demand the services of lesser beings of fire, like magma mephits and fire elementals. Magmorte don't mind being forced into servitude, as long as they can indulge their pyromania. Otherwise, they take every opportunity to twist orders, usually in ways involving copious amounts of fire, and complain loudly and often.

Elemental Nature. A magmorte doesn't require air, food, drink, or sleep.

gollark: It's not like "oh no where do I put my camera" is an unsolved problem.
gollark: I think the companies do, in fact, know roughly what the majority of people want, and the people who care much about repairability and dislike notches and whatever else are in the minority.
gollark: Sounds like something which could break easily.
gollark: Among many other things!
gollark: I just want actual rectangular screens and no weird camera notches again!
