Lesser Paragon

Summary::The little brother to the paragon template, lesser paragons are elites among their kind.

Paragons are supremely powerful examples of their kind, supermen among themselves. Lesser paragons are their little brother. They aren't as amazing or unique, but they are still elite among their kind.

Creating a Lesser Paragon

“Lesser Paragon” is a template that can be added to any creature (referred to hereafter as the base creature).

Hit Dice

A lesser paragon creature always has maximum hit points. Lesser paragon creatures also gain an additional 3 hit points per HD.

Speed

A lesser paragon creature gains a +10 bonus to all movement speeds.

Armor Class

Lesser paragon creatures gain a +4 insight bonus to AC and a +4 luck bonus to AC.

Attack

A lesser paragon creature makes all its attacks with a +5 luck bonus on the attack roll, as well as grapple checks and other opposed ability checks. They also receive a +5 luck bonus on damage rolls.

Special Attacks

If the base creature has spell-like abilities, spellcasting, manifesting, psi-like abilities, or other abilities which scale with HD or class level it gains a +5 bonus to its effective caster level.

Special Qualities

A lesser paragon creature retains all the special qualities of the base creature and also gains the following.

  • Resist Cold/Fire 10.
  • Damage Reduction 5/-. If the creature already possesses damage reduction, its pre-existing damage reduction rises by 5.
  • Spell Resistance equal to creature base CR + 15. If the creature already possesses spell resistance, use whichever is higher.
  • Fast Healing 5. If the creature already possesses fast healing or regeneration, its pre-existing fast healing or regeneration rises by 5.
  • Any weapons a lesser paragon's creature uses are treated as magic weapons (for bypassing DR/magic, interacting with ghosts, and other effects).

Str +4, Dex +4, Con +4, Int +4, Wis +4, Cha +4

Saves

The lesser paragon creature gains a +5 insight bonus on all its saving throws.

Skills

The lesser paragon creature gains a +5 competence bonus on all its skill checks.

Feats

Same as the base creature, plus one bonus feat.

Environment

Any.

Organization

Same as base creature.

Challenge Rating

As base creature +4.

Treasure

Same as base creature.

Alignment

Same as base creature.

Advancement

Same as base creature.

Level Adjustment

Level Adjustment::+5

Lesser Paragon Quick Template

If applying this template on the fly, here are the quick bonuses to the important statistics without needing to recalculate everything.

  • Maximum hit points. An additional 3 hit points per HD.
  • +10 speed.
  • +10 AC bonus (+4 luck, +4 insight, +2 dex).
  • +7 attack rolls. +7 damage rolls (+5 luck, +2 str).
  • +5 saving throws.
