Illumination. The beetle sheds bright light in a 30-foot radius and dim light for an additional 30 feet.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage.

Flash (Recharge 6). The beetle emits a bright flash of light over a 15-foot cone. Creatures in that area that can see the beetle must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be blinded for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. After using its Flash, the beetle can use the Dash action as a bonus action.

Iridescent beetles are rare beetles that scurry about underground and in dark forests. They have incredibly beautiful shells that are quite reflective, prized for use in jewellery and decoration. However, collecting the shells is no easy task, as the beetles can also emit blinding flashes of light before dashing away while their opponents are dazed.

gollark: Oh, so you're doing software stuff for them and also designing... retail-y hardware a bit?
gollark: Well, I have somewhat working backups, so probably "wipe server, reinstall from USB stick, reload important stuff but probably keep external network access down for a bit".
gollark: I mostly just try and keep software up to date, shove sandboxes on network-facing services, and hope vulnerability-scanning botnets or something don't catch up fast enough.
gollark: Probably high, especially since all of it's written in unsafe C for some reason.
gollark: I like to think I'm okay at Linux administration stuff (not really networking), but it's entirely possible my servers have been compromised or something and I haven't noticed, really.
