Spellcasting
You've studied the world around you to a point where you start knowing how the foundations of the world itself function, granting you the ability to cast spells, focusing on divination spells.
- Your mind is your focus
Due to your immense knowledge, you obtained the ability to cast spells using nothing but your mind as others use arcane foci.
- Cantrips (0-Level Spells)
At 1st level, you know three cantrips of your choice from the information mage spell list. At higher levels, you learn additional information mage cantrips of voice, as shown in the Cantrips Known column of the Information Mage table. When you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of your information mage cantrips you know with another cantrip from the artificer spell list.
- Knowing and Casting Spells
The Information Mage table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your information mage spells. To cast your information mage spells of 1st level or higher, you must expend a slot of the spell's level or higher. You regain all expanded spell slots when you finish a long rest.
You know four 1st-level spells of your choice from the sorcerer spell list and gain more spells when you level up as shown in the Spells Known column of the Information Mage table. All spells must be of a level you have spell slots for.
Additionally, when you gain a level in this class, you can choose one of the information mage spells you know and replace it with another spell from the information mage spell list, which also must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
- Spellcasting Ability
Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for your information mage spells; your understanding of the theory behind magic allows you to wield those spells with superior skill. You use your Intelligence whenever your information mage spells refer to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Intelligence modifier when setting the saving DC for an information mage spell you cast and when making attack rolls with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your intelligence modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Intelligence modifier
- Learning Genie
When you find an information mage spell of 1st level or higher, you can spend a long rest to decipher and learn the spell if it is of a spell level you can prepare. This spell doesn't count against your number of known spells, but the spell also can't be replaced when leveling up.
- Ritual Casting
You can cast an information mage spell as a ritual if that spell has the ritual tag and you know the spell.
Subclass
At 3rd level, you chose a Subclass. Choose between None and NoneTwo, all detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at 3rd level and again at 5th, 9th, and 15th level.
Ability Score Improvement
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
