Medium humanoid (any race), neutral evil Armor Class 8+Host
Saving Throws Int +17, Wis +14 Requires Host. Hive requires a host to survive for very long. The host must be any medium or smaller dead humanoid with the exception of an Inhuman. Hive cannot inhabit the undead. Because he takes the body of a dead host, he can live for a couple of centuries before being forced to take a new one if he is not fed living flesh every few decades. Host Abilities. Hive contains all the memories and abilities of his previous host. Whenever it says "host" in statistics, it is replaced with the host's statistics. For instance, Hive's hit points average at 866+Host. If his host originally had 42 hit points, then Hive would have a total of 908 hit points. Additionally, Hive inherits the traits of his host (apart from immunities, resistances, and vulnerabilities). Enhanced Smell. Hive has an excellent sense of smell and gains advantage on perception checks using smell. ACTIONSPunch. Melee Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (3d6 + 3) bludgeon and 9 (2d6 +2) poison damage. Throttle. Melee Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 2) bludgeon and 10 (2d6 + 3) poison damage. The target cannot make a move action unless it succeeds on a DC 17 Strength saving throw. Combined Attack. Punch and throttle, or punch twice. Sway. On his turn, Hive can sway any one Inhuman. That Inhuman, whether it be a PC or NPC, is played by the DM and controlled by Hive. This action cannot be blocked, duplicated, broken, or eliminated in any way. That Inhuman can only be freed if Hive is killed or if someone uses a wish spell to free them. Once they are freed, they cannot be swayed again. Consume. Ranged Attack: +7 to hit, reach 30 ft., one target. Hit: 56 (4d20 + 15) poison damage. Hive regains that many hit points. This attack can only be used on humanoids with the exception of Inhumans, and it ignores immunities and resistances. It automatically hits any targets within 15 ft. of Hive. Reveal Form. As a bonus action, Hive can reveal his true form. While in his true form, he gains +3 to Intimidation checks but -3 to all other Charisma checks and saving throws. Host Weaponry. Hive carries all the weapons, attacks, reactions, skills, and proficiencies of his previous host. REACTIONSHeal. Hive heals himself of 17 (4d6 + 4) hit points. Punch. Melee Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (3d6 + 3) bludgeon and 9 (2d6 +2) poison damage. Exit/Enter Host. Hive can exit his host body in the form of a large worm at any point provided that there is a dead non-Inhuman humanoid nearby. His Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, and Charisma all drop to 1 (-5). His hit points drop to 10, his AC drops to 5, his speed drops to 10 ft., and he no longer has any immunities or resistances. Hive can only exist for three days in this state, and it is his most vulnerable period. LEGENDARY ACTIONSThe Hive can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Hive regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn. Punch. Hive is the epitome of evil, worshiped by some and feared by all. Created to rule the Inhuman race, he will stop at nothing to raise his army and rule the world. While he may not be a god, he is the closest thing many have seen . . . at least before they are consumed or swayed. Hive was born with the name "Alveus," long before recorded history. He was a simple hunter and lived a peaceful life until he was abducted by the Kree, a highly advanced alien race from far beyond our planet. When he was captured, Alveus was subjected to their experimentation and became the first Inhuman, given the power to rule all Inhumans. Soon, other Inhumans were created by the Kree in order to build Alveus' army. But he was a puppet of the Kree, and longed for their defeat. So he created his army, not to serve the Kree, but to banish them. A war persisted, and Alveus, now the parasite known as Hive, banished the aliens from the Earth. But soon, Hive craved more power. He wanted to rule the world, the Inhumans at his side with humanity as his slaves. Humans and Inhumans alike saw that he posed a threat to all of them, and they sought to banish him. They found a Kree artifact called the Monolith, a portal to an alien moon called Maveth, far, far from Earth. Working together, the humans and Inhumans banished Hive to this alien world forever. However, not everyone saw Hive as the monster he was. Some humans believed that Hive was a god, and that if they rescued him from the hell in which he was trapped, they would be rewarded with great power in a world ruled by Hive. Eventually, these humans formed a cult called HYDRA, tasked with releasing Hive and building an Inhuman army with which to rule. HYDRA took the Monolith with the hope that they could somehow reverse what had been done with Hive. Every so often, the members of this cult would pick stones from a bag: several black ones and one white one. Whoever picked the white stone would enter the Monolith and sacrifice himself as Hive's new host, so that he may live while HYDRA toiled to engineer his return. |
